Basstech & Guitartech 1-Day Maintenance Courses

Founded in the early 1980's, the ICMP has over a quarter of a century of experience in developing and delivering relevant, high-quality courses for contemporary musicians.  But back when the school was founded, it wasn't called the ICMP of course!

Back then, the school was focused only on training guitarists and bassists looking to maximise their talent and develop a career in the music industry, and traded under two trademarked names - the Guitartech™ and the Basstech.  At a time when no other training was available, the Guitartech™ and Basstech™  quickly became extremely popular and over the years have developed a legendary status amongst musicians.

Of course, over time the Guitartech™ became known as the Guitar Institute, and as the school grew, and increasingly provided courses for drummers, vocalists and songwriters, the school developed a new name, the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance or ICMP.

But by developing and delivering relevant, high-quality courses for contemporary musicians and pioneering the teaching methods, curriculum and philosophy that have become the benchmarks for contemporary music education, the Guitartech™ and Basstech™ names have persisted and become legends in the field.

Now, thanks to popular demand from our students and alumni, the ICMP has decided to launch two new courses, focused on understanding and maintenance of the instruments, an essential skill and knowledge base required by guitar and bass players.  And because these courses take us back to the heritage days of Guitartech™ and Basstech™ era, we have decided to deliver these courses under these original names!

The Guitartech™ and Basstech™ 1-day maintenance courses are an engaging and practical way to improve and develop your knowledge and skills in how to understand and maintain your instrument.  Click on the links above for more details on content, price and timing.
