Paloma Faith has taken the world of music by storm this year with her debut album, 'Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?'. With the release of her first single, 'Stone Cold Sober', brought forward a month early after UK radio leapt on it with such fervor, Paloma is proving herself as a major new star.
'I'm really excited to be involved with the judging of the Shure Songwriting Award with the ICMP. I think that competitions like this are important to help nurture and support new talent'.
The 2009 competition was judged by sensational singer/songwriter Amy Macdonald, whose critcally acclaimed self-penned album debut album, 'This Is The Life', went to number one knocking Radiohead off the top spot and selling over 2 million copies worldwide leading to many nominations for music awards. Amy chose Zemmy Momoh as the 2009 winner.

'Enjoying going to school has been a strange (but wonderful) sensation. I've learned so much in my first term and met some great people. I'm incredibly grateful to have won the Shure Award as the ICMP has enabled me to look at songwriting from a completely fresh perspective, but the benefits are not simply confined to the classroom as real music industry opportunities are constantly offered to ICMP students.' - Zemmy |
