Songwriting Award Terms and Conditions
All applicants will have to accept the following terms and conditions before they can post their entry onto the website:
- Only one application per person is allowed
- Each applicant guarantees that their submission is their own original work and that they control the rights to the entire work submitted
- The short-listed applicants will be informed once the voting period has closed and the final winner will be notified once the final choice has been made
- Under no circumstances will a student win the award if they cannot attend the entire course
- The award may not be transferred by the winner to any other person and no cash alternative is available
- If the winning student is deemed to be in breach of the school codes of conduct and attendance requirements during the course, or withdraws from study without a valid reason as accepted by the Institute, they will be liable to reimburse the full value of the award which is £5,250
- The award is for a place on the Institute’s full-time Professional Diploma in Songwriting course commencing late September 2010 and is not a deferrable to subsequent intakes or transferable to other courses
- The award covers all teaching costs associated with the Professional Diploma in Songwriting course but does not cover accommodation or living expenses whilst on the programme of study which are the sole responsibility of the applicant
- The ICMP and Shure reserve the right to use any photographs or video taken during the event and subsequent course to utilize the names and generally publicise the winning applicant plus the short-listed finalists for promotional and marketing purposes
- The ICMP and Shure reserve the right to utilize music and material submitted by the winner and short-listed applicants for promotional and marketing purposes; to be clear, however, all rights for this material will remain with the creator
- The ICMP and Shure reserve the right to utilize the services of the winning applicant for reasonable promotional and/or marketing purposes during the term of the course
- The ICMP and Shure reserve the right to reasonably amend these conditions at any time
- All applicants must have an acceptable standard of English in order to study at the ICMP. In the case of an applicant’s English being of an unacceptable standard to attend the course the ICMP reserves the right to refuse the award
- The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into with unsuccessful applicants
- Submission of an application for this award implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions
- The ICMP and Shure accept no liability for any loss or damage caused to applicants or their materials as a result of entering this competition
