The ICMP is delighted to announce this year's winner, Meg Spencer-Thomas!
Every year, the ICMP awards over £37,000 worth of music scholarships to talented and deserving students. In partnership with leading industry partners, these awards make a significant and direct contribution to the development of musical talent.
The ICMP and Musicians Benevolent Fund are excited to present the first Musicians Benevolent Fund Scholarship awarding one deserving student a fully funded place on the ICMP's part-time Foundation Degree in Creative Musicianship, worth £7,800, starting September 2010.
The scholarship is open to students of bass, drums, vocals or guitar for a place on the ICMP’s new part-time Foundation Degree in Creative Musicianship. This new, innovative course is focused on developing each individual musician’s unique ‘creative voice’, their performance skills to industry standard, and equipping them with the entrepreneurial and business skills required to capitalise on their creative abilities. Subject to validation by Middlesex University, this course is also available as a full-time course and will launch September 2010. As well as a place on the course, the winner will also be given the opportunity to complete their work experience at MBF, perform at charity showcases and gigs and write a scholarship diary for the MBF website.The scholarship is open to students of guitar, bass, drums or vocals for a place on the ICMP's new part-time Foundation Degree in Creative Musicianship.

The Musicians Benevolent Fund has spent nearly a century helping musicians of all ages and all genres in a variety of ways. They offer help to professional musicians and their dependants when a crisis such as an accident or illness hits during their working lives, as well as help with the challenges that disability or growing older can bring. The Fund prides itself on supporting outstandingly talented young artists through schemes and partnerships and can help with continuing creative development for professional musicians. |
